I am ridiculous! I went to Target today with the intention of buying the book "what to expect...". First of all I went to look at picture frames when I didn't even want one. I skated around the 'parental' section for about 10 minutes before I picked the book up, read a few pages, and eventually took it with me cover down. When I finally decided to buy the book I actually bought a gift bag and asked for a gift receipt, WTH?

I don't know why I acted like that. Maybe because I was afraid someone would think I was pregnant and ask me about it. Then I'd either be hurt that I had to reply that I wasn't or hurt and paranoid that they thought I was fat, lol. Maybe I felt like if I bought the book it would jinx me. I don't really know.

What I do know is that the book, when I finally got it home, made me really paranoid. It made me mostly paranoid about my chances of conceiving. I have heard a lot of warnings on cigarette labels but never one bout fertility.

It's a wonder anyone ever gets pregnant.

  1. and once you are pregnant, you will read through that book and be even more paranoid. you will be like "OMG i had blue cheese on my salad last week!!!" or "i had a tuna sandwich and now i have mercury poisoning!!!"

i think it is pretty cute you got the gift bag and everything. and you know....maybe you should treat it like a gift...to yourself. because you are going to be so happy to have that gift when you get your BFP. :)

  2. My pregnant girls made me promise NOT to read that book. Talk and listen to your doctor, and look up stuff on webMD.

Smoking...ya, not seeing mention of that on BBC. I smoke, tho I'm trying to quit since I'm TTC, but smokers get preggers ALL THE TIME. Don't read too much into ANY extremes!!!
